The Naksha & Punch Cards
The design is translated into the system that will guide the loom—traditionally through the Naksha and, in jacquard weaving, through a series of punch cards. Together, they guide the intricate movements that bring each motif to life.
The Weaving
Silk and zari come together thread by thread, as the design slowly emerges on the loom. With every pass, what once existed only as an idea begins to take the form of a saree.
